One of the great things about life is that there are so many ways to experience happiness, and each person’s definition of pleasure is unique. Happiness can be found in every situation and at any moment if you can grasp a few fundamental happiness themes that apply to everyone.
Say I Love You
Some people find it really hard to tell someone they love them, especially close family members. Some people seem to think that everyone should just know that they are loved and that telling them out loud is redundant and even uncomfortable. But it’s important to be able to say “I love you” and mean it. Not only does it make those people feel appreciated and needed, but it also makes the person saying it realize how much has been done for them in their lives.
So, being able to say “I love you” is a great way to make other people happy and to make yourself happy, too. The more you say it, the more you’ll hear it, and you’ll realize how important you are to other people.
You will be much happier if you learn to really forgive other people. You’ve probably been hurt, let down, or even betrayed at some point in your life. It can be hard to forgive people who have hurt you in these ways, but if you can, you won’t be angry inside. Being upset with someone hurts you more than it hurts them. If you can forgive, you can move on with your life and look at things in a more positive way. It will be hard, but it will be worth the trouble.
Do What You Enjoy
What makes you happy? What are you really interested in? These are the things you should never forget or let go of. If you don’t pay attention to them, it’s easy to get busy with other things or even more work and find that you don’t have time to do the things you used to love. You must always make room in your life for them, and this will help you stay happy.
Also, keep in mind that these are your interests and passions. They are things you like to do and might be good at, too (although this is not a prerequisite). Don’t let other people tell you that what you like to do is boring, stupid, “not cool,” or any other insulting word or phrase.
